Silky Sanga ton guides Sri Lanka to safety: 3rd Test, Day 5 (SSC)

Led by a unbeaten captains knock of 130 by Kumar Sangakkara Sri Lanka forced a draw in the 3rd and final Test and take the series 20. With 15 overs to go and 101 more to get both captains shook hands and agreed to call the match off. Pakistan would have backed themselves to win this game despite a placid pitch but only managed to get a solitary wicket. Sri Lanka approached the task of saving the game by way of building partnerships. The openers paved the way and Sangakkara along with Paranavitana Samaraweera and Mathews ensured the task was achieved with little difficulty. Kumar Sangakkara was the man of the match while Nuwan Kulasekera was declared man of the series. Day 5 3rd Test. SSC. July 2009.
