Mahela opens with ton, secures series win: 3rd ODI (Dambulla)

Mahela Jayawardene (123) hit his first one-day century in two years as Sri Lanka smashed Pakistan by six wickets to grab an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the five match series. He opened the innings and put on 202 with Upul Tharanga 76 as the hosts cruised past Pakistan's challenging 8-288 in the 47th over of the high scoring match. Earlier an improved batting display by Pakistan in which teenager Umar Akmal stroked 66 off 65 balls saw them total a competitive 288-8. 3rd ODI Dambulla. Aug 2009.
