Sir Richard Hadlee - Carrying the Hopes of a Nation

Richard Hadlee was knighted in 1990 for his outstanding services to NZ cricket. He is regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers and allrounders of all time and held the record for most test wickets.

Hadlee played 86 Test matches and 115 one-day internationals. He captured 431 Test wickets (a world record) at an average of 22.29. His best bowling performance was 9 for 52 against Australia at the Gabba, Brisbane, Australia in 1985-86.

He took a record 10 wickets in a match 9 time and a record 5 wickets in a Test innings 36 times.
