Jansen blows away Sri Lanka for record low 42 all out: 1st Test, Day 2 (Durban)

Marco Jansen took a career best 7-13 as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 42 by South Africa at Kingsmead on day 2.

This 42 all out was Sri Lanka’s lowest Test total ever, beating 71 against Pakistan in Kandy in 1994. Their innings lasted only 13.5 overs (83 balls) the second shortest in Test history when a team has been bowled out.

South Africa increased their grip on the 1st Test by posting 132-3 at stumps, to lead by 281 runs.

South Africa 191 (Bavuma 70, Maharaj 24, Asitha 3-44) and 132 for 3 (Markram 47, Bavuma 24*, Jayasuriya 2-48) lead Sri Lanka 42 (Kamindu 13, Jansen 7-13, Coetzee 2-18) by 281 runs.
