Australia in command despite bruising day: 3rd Test, Day 1 (Perth)
Australia reached 339-3 despite a fiery post lunch spell from the Windies.
Skipper Ricky Ponting was forced to retire hurt on 23 after being struck on the arm by Kemar Roach.
Openers Shane Watson 89 and Simon Katich 99 put on 132 before Mike Hussey 81 not out and Marcus North 23 not out saw the hosts to safety at stumps.
