Wayne Parnell 49 off 47 balls was run out off the final delivery as the Proteas fell agonisingly 1 run short of India's 9-298.

Earlier India overcame the absence of four top stars to post 298-9 after Suresh Raina topscored with 58 off 63 balls and Virender Sehwag hammered a typically aggressive 46 off 37 balls.
