Sanga and Thilan steady ship: 2nd Test, D1 (RPS)

Sri Lanka recovered a measure of composure after a poor start to reach 84 for three on a rain-shortened first day.

Heavy overnight rain in the Sri Lankan capital prevented any play until 12.30pm. Kemar Roach then struck to limit the hosts to 34 for three before Kumar Sangakkara and Thilan Samaraweera restored some respectability.

Sri Lanka 81 for 3 (Sangakkara 25*, Roach 2-24).
