England had one of their greatest days of Ashes cricket, closing on 157-0 after bowling Australia out for 98.

With the series squared at 1-1, Strauss won the toss and elected to bowl. Watson was dropped twice without scoring off Anderson. In overcast conditions, Tremlett and Anderson took 4 wickets each to destroy Australia for 98.

Prior become the fourth English wicket-keeper to take six catches in an innings.

England 0 for 157 (Cook 80*, Strauss 64*) lead Australia 98 (Tremlett 4-26, Anderson 4-44) by 59 runs.
