England close in as Bresnan turns screws on Aussies: 4th Test, D3 (MCG)

Tim Bresnan’s three wickets left Australia 169 for six, 246 runs behind England.

Australia require another 15 to avoid recording their worst Ashes defeat on home soil since 1891.

England start the third day needing just three wickets to retain the Ashes with Australia fast bowler Ryan Harris unlikely to bat due to a fractured ankle sustained on a terrible day for Australia.

Earlier, England added 69 to their overnight total as they were dismissed for 513, with Jonathan Trott unbeaten on 168.
