Dilshan & Tharanga record puts Lankans in quarters: 2011 World Cup #26 (Pallekelle)

Swashbuckling opener Dilshan compiled his first world cup century (in 95 balls) and was involved in a record first wicket stand of 282 with Upul Tharanga who also made a well-deserved century in 122 balls.

Sri Lanka posted 327 for 6 (Dilshan 144, Tharanga 133) to beat Zimbabwe 188 (Taylor 80, Dilshan 4-4) by 139 runs. Sri Lanka is the first team to qualify for the quarterfinals from Group A.
