Seamer Jade Dernbach took 5-44 as England Lions bowled out Sri Lanka for 266 on day two at Derby.
After declaring on 493 for eight, Dernbach helped dismantle the tourists' top order before returning to mop up the last two wickets leaving Lions captain James Hildreth to decide overnight whether to enforce the follow-on.
Dernbach conceded that despite his efforts with the ball he is still down the pecking order when it comes to grabbing a Test spot.
