Clarke on win: Debutants were fantastic (Galle)

Despite some extraordinary resistance by Sri Lanka's Mahela Jayawardene (105) and Angelo Mathews (95), the Australian bowlers stuck to their task and eventually took the five wickets needed to wrap up the match.

Winning skipper Michael Clarke said "My first as captain, so very excited. The way we played throughout was spot on. As the days went on, the wicket died a bit, and the pace came off. The debutants did a fantastic job. Very special.".

Hussey was man of the match for his 95.
