India slip to bottom after crushing loss: CB #8 ODI (Gabba) - 2 of 2
Sri Lanka beat India by 51 runs after dismissing them for 238. Earlier, Sri Lanka batted solidly to post 289 for six.
Openers Tillakaratne Dilshan (51) and Mahela Jayawardene (45) put on 95 runs for the first wicket. Dinesh Chandimal (38), Lahiru Thirimanne (62) and Angelo Matthews (49 not out) all added vital runs as Sri Lanka's 289 for 6 (Thirimanne 62, Dilshan 51, Mathews 49*) trumped India's 238 (Kohli 66, Irfan 47, Kulasekara 3-40) by 51 runs.
Sri Lanka (11 points) with a game in hand overtook India (10) to trail leaders Australia (14) with three games to play.
