Blazing Nazir takes Pakistan to Super Eights: ICC T20 WC R1 PAK v BAN (Pallekele)

Opener Imran Nazir (72) smashed nine fours and three sixes in an opening stand of 124 off 81 balls with skipper Mohammad Hafeez (45) as Pakistan cruised past Bangladesh's total with eight balls to spare to take them to the Super 8 round.

Earlier, a thrilling 54-ball 84 from Shakib Al Hasan underpinned a healthy total of 175 for six that gave the Tigers genuine hope. Pakistan 178 for 2 (Nazir 72, Hafeez 45, Jamshed 29) beat Bangladesh 175 for 6 (Shakib 84, Tamim 24, Arafat 3-25) by eight wickets.
