Aussies fight back after Kallis & Amla tons: 1st Test, Day 3 (Gabba)

Australia were struggling at 40-3 at one stage and South Africa was in the box seat for an outright win. But Cowan (49 not out) and Clarke (34 not out) steadied the ship with Australia 111-3 at close to trail South Africa by 339 runs.

Earlier, Jacques Kallis had a memorable day, making his 44th Test century (147) and Amla made 104 as South Africa smashed 450-9.
