McCullum inspires win after late England collapse: 1st ODI (Hamilton)

Skipper Brendon McCullum (69 not out off 61 balls) produced a match winning innings to steer New Zealand to a three-wicket victory.

Earlier, Trott (68) and Bell (64) steadied the innings and Joe Root stroked a solid 56 before England lost 7-74.

England (258 all out in 49.3 overs, Trott 68, Bell 64, Root 56, McClenaghan 4-56, Franklin 3-38) lost to New Zealand (259 for seven in 48.5 overs, Williamson 74, B McCullum 69*) by three wickets.
