England snatch thrilling draw, Prior century denies Kiwis: 3rd Test, Day 5 (Auckland)

Keeper Matt Prior produced a classic fighting century to ensure England saved the series-deciding third test with just a single wicket the difference.

Prior (110 not out) and Ian Bell (75) had defied New Zealand for almost six hours to put on 78.

Stuart Broad then batted 137 minutes for six before he and James Anderson were dismissed within the space of three deliveries to leave Panesar coming to the crease with 21 balls remaining.

England 204 (Prior 73, Boult 6-68) and 315 for 9 (Prior 110*, Bell 75, Williamson 4-44) drew with New Zealand 443 (Fulton 136, Williamson 91, Finn 6-125) and 241 for 6 dec (Fulton 110, McCullum 67*).
