Bradman and Ponsford in 451 run stand (Oval)

Don Bradman and Bill Ponsford put on a record 451 to settle the deadlock in the final Test and win back the Ashes.

Bradman hits 244 and Ponsford made 266 as Australia posted 701.

England replied with 321. In their second innings , leg spinner Clarrie Grimmett picked up five second innings wickets as England finished somewhat short of the target of 708 after being bowled out for 145.
