Vicious Johnson spell cuts open Proteas: 1st Test, Day 2 (Centurion)

Mitch Johnson destroyed South Africa’s top order to have the hosts in trouble after he grabbed 4 wickets in a brutal spell of hostile bowling.

Earlier, spearhead Dale Steyn cleaned up Australia's tail shortly after lunch to restrict the visitors to a first innings of 397 after Steve Smith posted his century.

South Africa 140 for 6 (de Villiers 53*, Johnson 4-52) trail Australia 397 (Marsh 148, Smith 100, Steyn 4-78) by 257 runs.
