Aaron Finch (109 runs off 127 balls) and Steve Smith (73 off 55) powered Australia to 330 as they took a 2-1 lead against South Africa with a 73-run victory. In reply, Hashim Amla made 102 but with Imran Tahir absent, South Africa closed on 256-9 with paceman Starc taking 4-32.
