The end was farcical as Nuwan Kulasekara dropped a straightforward chance at mid-off from Shoaib Malik, to gift Pakistan a 6 wicket win with four balls to spare in this dead rubber contest after both teams had been already eliminated from the Asia Cup final.
Promoted to No. 3, Sarfraz smashed 38 before Umar Akmal and Malik added 56 runs for the fourth wicket. Akmal finished with 48 off 37 balls.
Earlier, Tillakaratne Dilshan scored 75 not out from Sri Lanka’s total of 150 for 4. He survived a missed run-out opportunity and two dropped catches. Dilshan out on 110 for the 1st wicket in 14 overs with Chamdimal who smashed 58 but SL fell apart in the last 6 overs.
Pakistan 151 for 4 (Umar Akmal 48, Sarfraz 38) beat Sri Lanka 150 for 4 (Dilshan 75*, Chandimal 58, Irfan 2-18) by six wickets.
