Analysis: Kohli trumps Pakistan, Aussies lick wounds

Mark Taylor analyses the India-Pakistan encounter and looks ahead to the Australia-Bangladesh clash.

Virat Kohli shrugged off the pressure that always surrounds an India-Pakistan match to secure a campaign-reviving six-wicket victory. The two nations have now met 11 times in either the World Cup or World T20 since their first meeting at the SCG in 1992 with India winning them all. The recent results have not even been close since a five-run loss in the final of the 2007 World T20.

Bangladesh were dealt a blow ahead of the Super 10 Group 2 game against Australia. Bangladesh bowlers Arafat Sunny and Taskin Ahmed were banned by the International Cricket Council for illegal actions and will play no further part in the World Twenty20. Australia were dealt a blow when NZ beat them in their opening game.
