1910: Trumper in action against South Africa (SCG)

This is the earliest known surviving film of Test cricket action filmed in Australia. Victor Trumper is run out for 27. He was batting with Warren Bardsley who went onto notch a century as Australia beat South Africa by an innings and 114 runs.

Sourced from an incomplete 35mm Pathé Animated Gazette Australian newsreel from December 1910, this half minute silent film has been speed corrected and includes the opening intertitle, now stretched and viewable in its original orange tinting.

1910-1911 Australia v South Africa - 1st Test on 9th December, 1910 at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney
