Moeen ton and pacemen wreck Sri Lanka: 2nd Test, Day 2 (Durham)

Moeen Ali struck 155 not out, his second Test century as England dominated Sri Lanka.

Resuming on 310-6, England progressed to 498-9 declared as Moeen batted intelligently with the tail and Sri Lanka were woeful in the field. Rangana Herath provided a rare bright moment when he took his 300th Test wicket.

Chris Woakes and Stuart Broad destroyed Sri Lanka as the tourists slumped to 91-8, still 407 runs behind. Sri Lanka 90 for 8 (Woakes 3-9, Broad 3-35) trail England 498 for 9 dec (Moeen 155*, Hales 83, Root 50, Pradeep 4-107) by 407 runs.
