Hales powers England to record highest score: 3rd ODI (Trent Bridge)

Alex Hales struck a record highest score of 171 as England posted the highest ever one-day international total when they beat Pakistan by 169 runs to secure a series victory.

Hales, Root (85) and Jos Buttler (90 not out) made England's fastest ever 50 from 22 balls as England hit 444-3 which surpassed the previous highest record score held by Sri Lanka. Last man Mohammad Amir (58) hit the highest ever score by a No 11 as Pakistan were bowled out for 279.

England 444 for 3 (Hales 171, Buttler 90*, Root 85, Morgan 57*) beat Pakistan 275 (Sharjeel 58, Amir 58, Woakes 4-41) by 169 runs.
