Taylor, Boult stop Proteas streak: 2nd ODI (Christchurch)

Ross Taylor completed his 17th ODI century as New Zealand defeated South Africa by 6 runs in a nail-biter to stop a 12 match winning streak.

South Africa fought back after Dwaine Pretorius smashed 50 off just 26 deliveries. Boult (3-63) bowled a decisive 49th over and the Proteas needed 15 to win off the final over from Southee.

Allrounder Andile Phehlukwayo blocked the first four balls before getting fours off the last two to hand victory to the Kiwis.

New Zealand 289 for 4 (Taylor 102*, Neesham 71*, Williamson 69, Pretorious 2-40) beat South Africa 283 for 9 (De Kock 57, Pretorius 50, Boult 3-63) by six runs.
