Brilliant Raza century has Sri Lanka on the ropes: 1st Test, Day 4 (RPS)

Sikander Raza smashed a maiden century to rescue Zimbabwe and leave Sri Lanka with a difficult target to chase.

Zimbabwe made 377 as Raza top scored with a brilliant 127. Raza came out to bat after they were reduced to 59/5 on day 3. His 144-run partnership with Waller proved decisive.

Kusal Mendis posted 60 not out to keep Sri Lanka’s hopes of chasing a record 388 alive, finishing on 170 for three at stumps.

Sri Lanka 346 and 170 for 3 (Mendis 69*, Mathews 17*, Cremer 2-67) need another 218 runs to beat Zimbabwe 356 and 377 (Raza 127, Waller 68, Herath 6-133, Perera 3-95).
