Defiant Mendis hits ton after SL follow on: 2nd Test, Day 3 (SSC)

India tightened their grip on the 2nd Test despite a fighting century by Kusal Mendis after the hosts followed-on.

Mendis (110) put on 191 runs for the second wicket with opener Dimuth Karunaratne (92 not out) before falling to paceman Hardik Pandya for 110 just before stumps.

Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka collapsed from their overnight 50-2 to 183 all out.

Sri Lanka 183 (Dickwella 51, Ashwin 5-69, Shami 2-, 13, Jadeja 2-84) and 209 for 2 (f/o) (Mendis 110, Karunaratne 92*) trail India 622 for 9 dec by 230 runs.
