Maxwell survives catch, powers win: 2018 Trans Tasman T20 No 2 (Hobart)

Allrounder Glenn Maxwell smashed a six off the last ball to bring up a 58-ball century and give Australia a controversial five-wicket win over England.

Maxwell received a life on 42 when Alex Hales put him down off Tom Curran (0-39) at deep square leg. He got a controversial reprieve on 59, when Jason Roy at long off claimed a catch off Adil Rashid (1-30), only for the TV umpire to overturn the decision.

Earlier, Malan struck a fifty but Maxwells off-breaks picked up three wickets as England lost 7-44 in the last eight overs after being 1-60 at the end of the powerplay.

Australia 5 for 161 (Maxwell 103*, Short 30, Willey 3-28) beat England 9 for 155 (Malan 50, Maxwell 3-10, Agar 2-15) by 5 wickets.
