Aussies steal SL world record after Maxwell fireworks: 1st T20 (Kandy)

Allrounder Glenn Maxwell's blistering century powered Australia to a world record score and a comprehensive 85-run win over Sri Lanka.

Australia broke Sri Lanka's nine-year record of 260-6 against Kenya in 2007 by posting 263-3. Australia then restricted Sri Lanka to 178-9 to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

Australia 263 for 3 (Maxwell 145*, Head 45) beat Sri Lanka 178 for 9 (Chandimal 58, Starc 3-26, Boland 3-26) by 85 runs runs.
