Mahmudullah knocks out SL in stormy finish: 2018 Nidahas Trophy No 6 (RPS)

Mahmudullah hit an unbeaten 43 off 18 balls to help Bangladesh edge out Sri Lanka by two wickets in a bad-tempered T20I and enter the final of the Nidahas Trophy tri-series.

Chasing 160 for victory, Tamim and Mahmudullah steered the team home with a six on the penultimate ball.

Angry exchanges between the players of the two sides halted play near the end. Mustafizur Rahman missed two bouncers from Isuru Udana in the final over and was run out but the Bangladesh players contested the call, saying it was a no ball due to its height.

Earlier, Kusal Perera and Thisara Perera hit half-centuries to help Sri Lanka post 159-7.

Bangladesh 160 for 8 (Tamim 50, Mahmudullah 43*) beat Sri Lanka 159 for 7 (Kusal Perera 61, Thisara 58) by two wickets.
