Ball Tampering scandal: Smith, Warner, Bancroft sent home in disgrace

Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft are being sent home immediately after the ball tampering scandal.

The disgraced trio face "significant sanctions" over Australia's ball-tampering scandal, according to Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland.

Coach Darren Lehmann appears set to survive for now but is not expected to last beyond the next Test match.

Handing down the interim findings, Sutherland insisted no other players or support staff had prior knowledge of the intention to tamper with the ball. He was caught on the hop when reporters repeatedly asked him if this was cheating by the players.
