1984: Duleep Mendis smashes Ian Botham for six (Lords)

Duleep Mendis struck 111 against a strong England bowling attack in Sri Lanka's very first Test at the home of cricket .

During his knock, he smashed Ian Botham for 3 sixers.

Opener Sidath Wettimuny scored 190 off 471 balls in a innings that lasted 642 minutes and included 21 fours.

Sri Lanka posted a score of 491/7d. England managed to score 370 in reply but the Test was drawn.
