Denly, Rashid spin out Sri Lanka: Only T20 (RPS)
Joe Denly made a spectacular return to international cricket as England bounced back from defeat in the final ODI against Sri Lanka to win the one off T20 by 30 runs.
Adil Rashid claimed 3-11 and all rounder Denly (4-19) took two wickets in the final over as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 157 off 20 overs. Denly’s return was the best ever by an English bowler in T20 internationals.
Earlier, Jason Roy smashed 69 off 36 balls as England posted 187-8.
England 187 for 8 (Roy 69, Aponso 2-29) beat Sri Lanka 157 (Thisara 57, Denly 4-19, Rashid 3-11) by 30 runs.
