de Kock rescues South Africa as SL pacers dominate: 1st Test, Day 1 (Durban)

Left arm paceman Vishwa Fernando took four wickets as Sri Lanka under new captain Dimuth Karunaratne bowled out South Africa for 235.

Wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock gave the South African innings some respectability by hitting 80 off 94 balls as Fernando claimed a career-best figures of 4/62 and fellow paceman Kasun Rajitha took 3/68.

Sri Lanka were 49/1 at the close.

Sri Lanka 49 for 1 (Karunaratne 28*, Steyn 1-10) trail South Africa 235 all out (de Kock 80, Bavuma 47, Vishwa 4-62) by 186 runs.
