Root, Roy overcome Gayle fireworks in record chase: 1st ODI (Barbados)

Jason Roy and Joe Root struck centuries to help England post their highest one-day run-chase as they beat West Indies by six wickets.

Earlier, Chris Gayle hits 12 sixers in a punishing 135 to help West Indies post 360-8.

In reply, Roy scored 123 off 85 balls and Root 102 off 97 as England ran down the 361-run target with eight balls to spare.

England 364 for 4 (Roy 123, Root 102) beat West Indies 360 for 8 (Gayle 135, Hope 64) by six wickets.
