Preview: Indian track record in World Cups

In the last World Cup, India got knocked out in the Semi-finals by Australia. This time around they will be looking to emulate their two Championship winning teams from 1983 and 2011.

Coached by Ravi Shastri and skippered by Virat Kohli, India will be looking to secure a third Cricket World Cup title and will be hoping they don’t have to wait as long for the third as they did the second.

With captain Virat Kohli, the world’s best batsman, India will fancy their chances in England.

India’s track record in the World Cup has gone from woeful in 1975 and 1979 to a surprise packet in 1983. Since then, they have grown in stature to be a powerhouse in World Cup cricket.

May 2019.
