Wahab Riaz stuns England as Pakistan win thriller: 2019 WC #6 (Trent Bridge)

Left arm quick Wahab Riaz was the star as England suffered a stunning upset at the hands of Pakistan to go down by 14 runs.

Hafeez 84, Babar 63, Sarfaraz 55 powered Pakistan to a healthy 348-8.

In reply, Joe Root struck 107, the first century of the tournament, and a 75-ball ton from Jos Buttler (103) had England in the hunt to the end. It took a fine bowling effort by Wahab Riaz (3-82) to restrict the home team to 334-9 as they fell short by 14 runs.

Pakistan 348 for 8 (Hafeez 84, Babar 63, Sarfaraz 55, Moeen 3-50, Woakes 3-71) beat England 334 for 9 (Root 107, Buttler 103, Wahab 3-82) by 14 runs.
