Henry stars as NZ stun India: 2019 WC Semi Final (Old Trafford)

MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jajeda led a thrilling rearguard action but New Zealand beat India by 18 runs to advance to the final.

Spirited bowling led by Matt Henry had India on the ropes at five for three. Ravindra Jadeja (77) partnered Mahendra Singh Dhoni in a century-plus stand but India were bowled out for 221 with the win in sight.

Earlier, Kiwi captain Kane Williamson’s workmanlike knock of 67 off 95 got New Zealand to 239-8 after a late rain interruption took the semi final to a second day.

New Zealand 239 for 8 (Taylor 74, Williamson 67, Bhuvneshwar 3-43) beat India 221 (Jadeja 77, Dhoni 50, Henry 3-37, Santner 2-34, Boult 2-42) by 18 runs.
