Aussies edge ahead despite Bairstow rescue knock: 2nd Test, Day 2 (Lords)

Johny Bairstow rescued England with a gritty 52 as Australia have the edge after bowling England out for 258.

Opener Rory Burns made a battling 53 but a collapse of four wickets for 46 runs left the home side 138-6. A stand of 72 between Bairstow and Chris Woakes took England to 258.

Australia lost David Warner, bowled by Broad, to close on 30-1.

Australia 30 for 1 (Khawaja 18*, Bancroft 5*) trail England 258 (Burns 53, Bairstow 52) by 228 runs.
