Broad, Leach deliver win to square Ashes series: 5th Test, Day 4 (Oval)

Matt Wade hit a defiant century but England squared the series 2-2 with a 135-run defeat of Australia in the fifth Test.

England lost its last 2 wickets quickly to set Australia 399 to win. Wade made his highest Test score of 117 but Stuart Broad and Jack Leach each took 4 wickets to bowl out Australia for 263.

Australia retained the Ashes that they won in 2017-18 down under. This is the first Ashes series to be drawn since the 1972 series also ended with a 2-2 draw 47 years ago.

England 294 (Buttler 70, Root 57, Marsh 5-46) and 329 (Denly 94, Stokes 67, Lyon 4-69) beat Australia 225 (Smith 80, Archer 6-62) and 263 (Wade 117, Leach 4-49, Broad 4-62) by 135 runs.
