Thomas five routs Sri Lanka: 1st T20 (Pallekele)

Paceman Oshane Thomas took 5-28 as the West Indies drew first blood against Sri Lanka with a 25-run victory.

Earlier, Lendl Simmons top-scored with 67 not out from 51 balls after the tourists had chosen to bat first. Skipper Kieron Pollard (34 off 15) added some late impetus in a total of 4-196.

Thomas has Sri Lanka under pressure at 56-5 with only Kusal Perera (68) showing any fight.

West Indies 196 for 4 (Simmons 67*, Russell 35) beat Sri Lanka 171 allout (Perera 68, Hasarange 44, Thomas 5-28) by 25 runs.
