Broad burst tightens England grip over Windies: 3rd Test, Day 3 (Manchester)

Veteran Stuart Broad's six wickets left England on the verge of a series victory over West Indies in the deciding 3rd Test.

Broad ended the day with 499 Test wickets after adding two more late wickets in the West Indies second innings to go with his 6-31 in the first innings.

The Windies closed day three on 2-10 — and still 389 runs from its unlikely victory target.

Earlier, England racked up 226-2 in 58 overs before declaring as opener Rory Burns hit 90 and skipper Joe Root added a quick fire 68 not out off 56 balls.

West Indies 197 (Holder 46, Broad 6-31) and 10 for 2 (Broad 2-8) need a further 389 to beat England 369 and 226 for 2 declared (Burns 90, Root 68*, Sibley 56).
