Bangladesh pip Sri Lanka in thriller: 2024 T20 World Cup (Dallas)

Leg spinner Rishad Hossain took three wickets and Towhid Hridoy scored a quick-fire 40 as Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by two wickets in a low-scoring match.

Nissanka (47) got Sri Lanka off to a win start but they collapsed from a healthy 70-2, losing 7 wickets for just 53 to limp to 124-9.

In reply, Hridoy scored 40 off just 20 balls in reply and smashed four sixes. There were some tense moments at the end as Bangladesh stuttered and eventually won with six balls remaining.

Bangladesh 125 for 8 (Hridoy 40, Litton 36, Thushara 4-18) beat Sri Lanka 124 for 9 (Nissanka 47, Mustafizur 3-17, Rishad 3-22) by two wickets.
