Vandersay six spins out India for surprise win: 2nd ODI (RPS)

Recalled leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay ripped through India's batting line-up with a career best six-wicket haul to guide Sri Lanka to an upset 32-run win.

Sri Lanka struggled against seamer Mohammed Siraj before Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis steadied the innings with a 74-run stand. Kamindu Mendis struck 40 and Dunith Wellalage added 39 as the hosts posted 240-9.

In reply, skipper Rohit Sharma scored a blistering 64 off 44 deliveries before he was dismissed by the 34-year-old Vandersay. Vandersay took the first 6 Indian wickets as they slid from 97-0 to 147-6. Axar Patel (44) tried to repair the damage but Asalanka (3-20) finished off the Indian innings.

Sri Lanka 240 for 9 (Avishka 40, Kamindu 40, Washington 3-30, Kuldeep 2-33) beat India 208 (Rohit 64, Axar 44, Vandersay 6-33, Asalanka 3-20) by 32 runs.
