Mehidy defies South Africa, gives hope to Bangladesh: 1st Test, Day 3 (Mirpur)

Allrounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz struck a defiant fifty to help Bangladesh gain a 81-run lead over South Africa on the third day of the first Test before rain and bad light ended play early.

Mehidy (87 not out) and Jaker Ali (58) added 138 vital runs for the seventh wicket.

Bangladesh resumed at 101-3 and lost 3 early wickets chasing down South Africa's 202-run first-innings lead.

Bangladesh 106 and 283 for 7 (Mehidy 87*, Jaker 58, Rabada 4-35) lead South Africa 308 by 65 runs.
