The 1990 India tour of England was a three-match Test series played in June–August 1990, followed by a 2-match ODI series. Graham Gooch led England to a 1-0 series win over India who were skippered by Mohammad Azharuddin.

This series was notable for high scores, batting feats, and the emergence of a teenage prodigy named Sachin Tendulkar.

  • Robin Smith: Consistent middle-order batting, including a century in the 2nd Test.
  • Angus Fraser: Leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets.

India

  • Mohammad Azharuddin: 179 at Lord’s in the 1st Test.
  • Kapil Dev: Brilliant 77* at Lord’s (including four consecutive sixes off Eddie Hemmings to avoid the follow-on).
