Description:
K .D. Singh Stadium

The Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium (commonly and historically known as the Ekana Cricket Stadium) is located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Commissioned in 2014 and opened in 2017, it is currently the fifth-largest international cricket stadium in India.

In 2018, the venue was officially renamed by the state government to honor the memory of India's 10th Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. It was previously known as the K D Singh Stadium.

Stadium Overview & Specifications

The venue was built via a public-private partnership model between Ekana Sportz City and the Lucknow Development Authority, with a construction budget of approximately 360 crores (3.6 billion rupees).

 Seating Capacity: 50,000 spectators.

Playing Dimensions: The field size stands at roughly 160text{m} times 156text{m} with a classic round boundary shape. Notably, it features some of the longest straight boundaries of any cricket venue in India.

Pitch Infrastructure: The stadium houses 9 distinct pitches crafted using a combination of red soil and black soil. This dual-soil system provides varying characteristics, with the black soil traditionally favoring spin and offering lower bounce, while the red soil variants provide better pace and carry.
