Zulqarnain Haider (born 3 April 1986 in Lahore) first came to the limelight as Pakistan under 19's wicketkeeper.
He then made his debut in a T20 against South Africa in Johannesburg scoring 5 (Feb 2007). He was the under-study keeper to Kamran Akmal until the latter was dropped during the England tour of 2010.
Haider played for both Lahore Blues and Pakistan Telecommunications in Pakistani domestic cricket. He made his Test-debut in the second test against England on the 6th August 2010 and scored a first ball duck.
Zulqarnain fled to London in November 2010 after claiming to have received threats and being approached by match-fixers, following the spot-fixing scandal during the 2010 Lords Test match between England and Pakistan. Zulqarnain Haider received a $5,800 fine from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after violating the team’s code of conduct.
