
Bernard Denis Julien was a talented all-rounder from Trinidad who represented the West Indies in the 1970s.
Born on March 13, 1950, in Trinidad, he was a left-handed batsman and left-arm fast-medium bowler known for his fluent stroke play and ability to swing the ball effectively.
Julien made his Test debut against New Zealand in 1973 and went on to play 24 Tests and 12 One Day Internationals, scoring over 1,200 Test runs and taking 50 wickets.
He was a key member of the West Indies side that won the inaugural 1975 Cricket World Cup.
After a stint in county cricket with Kent, he later joined World Series Cricket.
Julien passed away on Oct 4, 2025, at the age of 75.
